A report in the Ipswich Journal** in Apr 1835 states :

To be sold by auction, a large quantity of materials, arising from St. Peter's Brewery, Ipswich; consisting of oak and fir beams, girders, rafters, joists, boards etc., bricks, pantiles, flag pavement, iron, etc.
