Battisford Punch Bowl
Real Ale is available here
Straight Rd, Battisford Tye, IP14 2LQ
The pub is run by a community-interest company on behalf of the village.
The pub is at the far-western edge of the village, almost in Little Finborough. It was historically listed as being in Upper Town, ie Combs (the parish boundary is so complex here that the pub is almost surrounded by Combs).
The pub's name shows it to have been a haunt of Whigs during the 17th century, as punch was their preferred drink. Their rival Tories preferred old-fashioned wines.
