We currently know very little about this pub except for the following detail printed in the Ipswich Journal. If you know any more please let us know.
Philip Deck announced that the Post Office will be over to the house, late the Pig, next the Six-bells in Church-gate-street, Bury St Edmunds, to be continued there till his house is rebuilt. The letter-box is the corner next the Pig-lane, where attendance will be given from Eight in the morning until Ten at night, except on Sunday's.. Ipswich Journal, 1st May 1779***
