Mrs Double & son Johnson were witnesses in a robbery. A customer was relieved of his purse & £24. Simon Frost aged 20 was found guilty and sentenced to death.Bury & Norwich Post, March 28th 1832*** (when Mrs Double was landlady)
Frost sent for the police to eject 3 men who were "very riotous" in his house. Once removed the men set about the police officer, PC Emerson. A Mr Henry Cobbold was arrested, charge with assault and fined 10s with 6s 4d costs.Bury & Norwich Post, January 14th 1879*** (when Arthur Frost was landlord)
