Eye Malt & Hops
also traded as as: Malt & Hophistorical era: late 20th century
46 Castle St
The pub was built late in the 16th century, with later additions.
The name seems to have fluctuated between "Malt & Hops" and "Malt & Hop" on a frequent basis. The Eye town licensing records show it changing from year to year.
The closure date is unknown, but the most recent Eye licensing records we've seen show it still open in 1967.
It's shown (though not named) on this old OS map from about the end of the 19th century. larger map
