The Carpenters' Arms is shown at this location on the 1884 OS map. It appears on OS maps at least as late as 1904, but can't be seen on sheets from 1938 onwards. The latest directory entry we've found was in 1922, so presumably it closed some time between 1922 and 1938?

The building was demolished in 2017, having apparently stood empty for some years. Don't be fooled by the fact that the new Carpenters Close is opposite the Chequers; the pub was actually about 300m north of this, opposite Moulton Road.

It's shown on this old OS map from about the end of the 19th century. larger map
