Historical interest
The pub was at 16 & 18 Quadling Street. Confirmed by 1901 census.
Situated opposite the entrance to the old tramway depot, on the south side of Quadling Street, on the corner (East side) of New Cardinal Street.***
In 1911 census there are separate entries for 16 and 18, Arthur remains at 18 but 16 (on the corner) is now occupied by the Minter family and known as "Japan Cottage" and appears not to be used as pub at that point, though it is on the 1924 list of Tollemache estate pubs.***
