Melton Station Hotelhistorical era: mid 20th century
closed April 20th, 1953
Wilford Bridge Rd
The Station Hotel can be seen here on an OS map of 1881.
In more recent years, the building was heavily remodelled, but still had recognisable features from old photographs. It was all-but completely demolished in May 2012.
The 1904 Woodbridge licensing records show that the Station Hotel's license was issued in 1862. Whether this was when it was first licensed or when it got a full (ie not just beer) license isn't clear, though the latter seems more probable, as it was apparently built in the late 1850s.
It closed in 1943, when its license was transferred to the Woodbridge Bay Horse.
