In an argument with Alfred Moule, Rainbow said "hit me then" Moule obliged and hit him a back handed blow. Rainbow fell and his head struck the floor first. Moule was arrested in London and charged with manslaughter.Bury & Norwich Post, September 26th 1865** (when Thomas Rainbow was the landlord)
An inquest heard that James Hamblin, was drinking in the White Swan, Wattisfield, and about 8pm he was put into the stable in a state of intoxication, where he was found dead the next morning. Verdict, died from excessive drinking.Ipswich Journal, August 1835**
