The original building is still there on a 8 acre plot currently run as a small holding / Nursery by my parents.

The original name of the pub is the Labourers Rest. It was an ale house on the Manor of Mildenhall for the farm workers.

It was sold off at some point and then became the Travellers Rest. I believe it was owned by a brewery called Cutlick & Harlick (or something like that).

I believe it closed in the 1920's / 30's. It was purchased by my grandfather in the 1930's and is now owned by my parents and is now called The Rest.

The current building looks quite modern as it as almost totaly rebuilt in the 1970's. I can remember when I was a boy the house had all the original doors and windows. It had 4 outside doors.

The only things that currently remain are a wooden opener on a door post for pushing in the marble on the old type bottles and a concrete panel on the end of the house which was apparently the back of the mens urinal !

I hope this info is useful to you.
