The majority of pubs have now reopened after the latest lockdown, albeit still with restrictions. Many pubs currently have temporary trading hours; these are shown where known. We also show pubs we know have still not reopened as temporarily closed.

Please note that due to the pandemic currently being allowed to run out of control, many pubs are having to close temporarily due to staff or customers getting "pinged". Please check with the pubs if you plan to travel any distance.

Earl Stonham Shepherd & Dog

Earl Stonham Shepherd & Dog

closed 4th December 2017

A1120, IP14 5HN

grid reference TM 094 598

The pub is currently closed. A notice on the door says the building was repossessed and the locks changed on the 4th of December 2017. It has been empty ever since and seems unlikely to ever reopen.

Set alongside wheat fields in the hamlet of Forward Green. The pub has been part of the community for many years and has always been somewhere special for both locals and passers-by alike. Its most recent transformation has seen it develop into a country bar, contemporary lounge and a modern eaterie.

The pub is shown on this old OS map from about 1902 (interactive map)
