Forward Green, IP14 5HN
Pub closed. Notice in door says the building was repossessed and the locks changed on the 4th of December 2017. Given the lack of any progress as of the autumn of 2018, it must be assumed that this pub is unlikely to reopen.
Set alongside wheat fields in the hamlet of Forward Green. The pub has been part of the community for many years and has always been somewhere special for both locals and passers-by alike. Its most recent transformation has seen it develop into a country bar, contemporary lounge and a modern eaterie.
The pub is shown on this old OS map from about 1902 (larger map)
