My grand parents and then my parents kept this pub till 1940. On my birth certificate (dated 8-2-1940) its states Old Market Inn. This pub had only a license to sell beer, My parents also run the Spread Eagle from 1947 then the Norman (1960-68).from Mike Leggett
The pub is also listed at Old Market plain (in 1865) and at Old Market Square (in 1879). It has since been demolished.
