Although the location of the Buck's Head means it's clearly a different inn to the Running Buck, it's possible that there may be some confusion between the two. Especially when references are just to the "Buck".

Mr Robert Clark at the Buck, near St Margaret's Bar-Gate, Ipswich.Ipswich Journal, May 23rd 1741*** (and again on April 24th 1742)
A report in the Suffolk Chronicle, May 1st 1813*** gives notice to exchange/return a large, drab Great Coat - Apply to Mr ANDREWS at the Buck Inn.
