One of the oldest buildings in the village, dating from the early 16th century. It's heavily timber framed and retains an inglenook fireplace. It's the only pub with this name in the entire country.

Reopened on 2nd Oct 2017 after refurbishment. There are now about half a dozen handpulls supplied from a new ground-lever taproom. The building has been extended to the rear with a lovely new restaurant which is glazed to give the effect of al-fresco dining.
