Stutton White Horse Inn?
Stutton White Horse Inn?
North, 51.96789,1.13168
Thought to have been a pub but there is a degree of doubt.
Lower St
grid reference TM 152 345
Tudor Cottage appears in the Listed Buildings Register as "formerly known as White Horse Inn Cottages". However, the register also says "It is possible that the building was a public house before it was subdivided, but it is also said that the properties were previously auctioned at the White Horse Public House in Ipswich and became known colloquially as White Horse Cottages thereafter." so perhaps it wasn't a pub after all.
No inn is shown in this area on any available OS maps (at least as early as 1882) so it presumably closed before that date.
If you can tell us more, please get in touch.
This building is believed to date from the 16th/17th century, possibly earlier.
