Samuel Quick, 18, was charged with wilfully breaking a square of glass, the property of David Turner, of the Newmarket Inn, Lowestoft, on the 20th January 1865. He was fined 1s with £1 costs, the value of the glass, when unable to pay he was sentence to 14 days' imprisonment with hard labour.Ipswich Journal, February 1865**
