Although the government has now allowed pubs to reopen, many are still unable to do so safely, while most if not all are only able to accommodate limited numbers of customers. Many of them are still reliant on providing takeaway food and/or drinks. Some offer deliveries, while others are selling from the premises. This page lists details of those we know about.

If you can give any of our pubs some support through these difficult times by buying some takeaway food or drink, please do so. Our pubs need as much support as possible if they're going to still be there for us when the crisis is over.

Middleton Kings Head

Middleton Kings Head

Closed 19th century

Fordley Rd?

grid reference TM 418 673 (approximate location)

We understand the King's Head was somewhere around where we've marked it on the map, but haven't been able to find any building in the area which looks like it may have been a pub. And nothing has been found on old maps either, so we can't show an accurate location.

It isn't recorded in licensing records we've looked at going as far back as 1874, so must have closed before then.

The 1861, 1891 and 1901 censuses list the Old King's Head, in each case two households are listed. This suggests that the pub had closed before 1861.
