3 Cornhill
The Temperance Hotel was a commercial hotel "opposite Corn Exchange"
It was built on the site of the Bell Inn (or Bell Hotel), which was recorded at 3 Cornhill until 1879. The property was listed as "building" in the 1881 census.
Many thanks to Andrew Gough who tells us: The Bell Commercial Temparance Hotel was on the corner of Woolhall St and the Cornhill where "Bet Fred" was located until recently, and not at 3 Cornhill. They were two separate buildings.
Historical interest
It's also listed at 3 Meat Market in 1888 - this may be an error or an earlier numbering scheme.
