In the light of the government announcement of March 20th, all pubs are now closed until further notice.

However, a number of pubs are providing takeaway food and/or drinks during the lockdown. Some offer deliveries, while others are selling from the premises. This page lists details of those we know about.

If you can give any of our pubs some support through these terrible times by buying some takeaway food or drink, please do so. Our pubs need as much support of possible if they're going to still be there for us when the crisis is over.

Newmarket York Arms

Newmarket York Arms

Closed 1840-1920.

Exeter Rd

grid reference TL 640 637

The 1911 census transcription lists the pub in Exning Road, but the original looks more like Exeter Road and the 1901 census also lists the pub in Exeter Road.

No building in the area gives any indication of having been a pub, but the existence of York Terrace suggests it was likely towards the Exning Road end. Perhaps it was another name for the nearby Mount?
