Debenham Ten Bells
Debenham Ten Bells

Closed: before 1840
56 High St
grid reference TM 174 631
According to the book "Samuel Dove's Debenham", the Ten Bells was at number 72 High Street, with the Eight Bells at number 56. However, the OS map shows the Eight Bells at number 72, so unless that is incorrect, Dove appears to have the two reversed.
Although two distinct buildings can be seen in our photograph, the Listed Buildings Register makes it clear that they once made up a single unit. Where the sign used to hang can clearly be seen on the brick-built part.
