Hulver Street Hulvergate Lodge
also traded as as: Gate, Hulver Gatehistorical era: late 20th century
Now renovated and residential, after many years of semi-dereliction.
It was formerly an open plan free house set in 2 acres of grounds.
The date of its closure is unknown, but must have been between 1997 (when it was listed as open in a Suffolk Camra guide) and 2007 (when it was found semi derelict).
The pub can be seen (as the Gate) on this old OS map from about the end of the 19th century. larger map. Oddly, it's still shown as a pub on OS online maps even (at the time of writing) in late-2017.
