Stowmarket Punch Bowlhistorical era: late 20th century
No details known, apart from a mention in Alfred Hedges' 1976 book, "Inns and Inn Signs of Norfolk and Suffolk".
The sign of the Punch Bowl was associated with 17th century Whigs, who favoured that drink over the wines drunk by their rival Tories.
This may well be another name for one of the pubs we already list in Stowmarket; it appears from the book that the pub was still open when it was published. It's evidently not a mis-placed Battisford Punch Bowl, as that pub is also mentioned in the book.
