Important Covid information

If all goes according to plan, the first tranche of pubs (those that are able to serve drinkers outdoors) may be able to reopen on April 12th. Though of course, in a situation like this, nothing is guaranteed. The rest of our pubs may be permitted to reopen from May 17th.

Pubs providing takeaways continue to be listed on this page.

Those planning to reopen when permitted are listed on this page.

Ipswich Three Golden Sugar Loaves?

Ipswich Three Golden Sugar Loaves?

Thought to have been a pub but there is a degree of doubt.

The only reference we have to these premises is a single newspaper report:

Thomas Sewell, Grocer, at the Three Golden Sugar Loaves in St Clement's Parish, Ipswich.Ipswich Journal*** on 27 Jun 1741

Was this actually a pub?
