Risby Mr Smith's Beer House

historical era: Victorian / Edwardian

All we know about these premises is a single newspaper report:

While Mr Shillito was in Mr Smith's Beer House in Risby on Saturday the 18th May 1850, a piece of beef weighing 12lbs was purloined from his cart. Later in the day 2 men, James Cates and Henry Last, both labourers at Risby, were caught red handed retrieving the meat from where they had hidden it.Ipswich Journal, May 1850**
