Important Covid information

If all goes according to plan, the first tranche of pubs (those that are able to serve drinkers outdoors) may be able to reopen on April 12th. Though of course, in a situation like this, nothing is guaranteed. The rest of our pubs may be permitted to reopen from May 17th.

Pubs providing takeaways continue to be listed on this page.

Those planning to reopen when permitted are listed on this page.

Beccles Railway Tavern

Beccles Railway Tavern

Closed unknown era

Station Rd

grid reference TM 425 904 (approximate location)

Records show this as a different establishment to the Railway Hotel, though it probably stood nearby as the licensee of the latter pub objected to the transfer of the license from the Horse & Groom (perhaps with a view to changing from a beerhouse license to a full one?) as did the landlord of the nearby Star Inn.
