Peter Hunter, late landlord of the Highlander, Friars Street, was required to find sureties to keep the peace towards William Potts. Mr Potts was an agent for Messrs. Chaplin and Co., brewers, of London, and in the course of his business he had to issue a writ against Mr Hunter for debt due to the firm. Subsequently he had met with Hunter at the County Hotel, and Hunter was so abusive and threatened him in such a manner that Potts was apprehensive of a breach of the peace. Hunter was ordered to keep the peace towards Potts for 6 months. Ipswich Journal, July 1865**
