The refurbishment of this 16th Century pub shows off the original beams, large open fireplaces and a vaulted ceiling. Some examples of wattle and daub have been retained along with the original ale serving hatch. The pub's walled garden is particularly popular in warmer months. A single bar serves local ales and food, including gluten-free options, is available throughout the day. There is also a takeaway food menu and the restaurant is available for private hire. At their discretion, the pub may close early some evenings.

The north wing dates from the 16th century, the south from the 17th, though it was much rebuilt in the late 18th century.
