Saxmundham White Harthistorical era: 21st century
18 High St, IP17 1DD
This was a nicely furnished hotel, with its public bar to the rear and a separate restaurant. A taxi service and bike hire were also available; customers were advised to "ring the pub's 'phone number for bookings".
It reopened in June 2012 after a short period of closure, but closed again in February 2013. The pub is still on the market. There was some hope that the pub might be bought by the community and reopened, but that was abandoned in October 2016. By March 2019, the building had been turned into a charity shop, with the first floor being marketed for offices.
The pub was built late in the 17th century. It's shown as an un-named hotel on this old OS map from about the end of the 19th century. larger map
