Thorington Street Rose
Thorington Street Rose
closed 2004
opened 1550
Park Rd (B1068), CO6 4SN
grid reference TM 010 353
Now residential.
The Rose used to be a cosy 2 bar pub - one room was very small with a dart board and the other long and narrow with low beamed ceilings. Food was often available. The pub sign was still hanging as late as 2007.
NB this pub is sometimes listed as being in Stoke By Nayland, as Thorington Street hamlet is actually part of that parish, albeit located about 2km to the south east.
The pub is shown on this old OS map from about the end of the 19th century. interactive map
