A former coaching inn, now bypassed by the A12, which has been modernised throughout. Free of tie, the pub serves three or more changing beers. The main bar has exposed timbers and bare floorboards.

It was built in the 18th century, but the fa├žade is 19th century.

North-east Suffolk CAMRA report (March 2018) that this pub is currently closed. It's expected to reopen about the end of June 2019.
