Old Chimneys

A craft brewery opened in 1995 by former Vaux / Greene King / Broughton brewer Alan Thomson. Originally located in a shed in Alan's Garden (the house is called Old Chimneys, hence the name), in 2001 the brewery moved to larger premises in a converted farm building in the same village. The beers produced were mostly named after endangered local species.

All bottled beers were suitable for vegetarians and all except Black Rat and Hairy Canary were suitable for vegans.

Sadly, Alan ceased brewing here in April 2019 to concentrate on collaborative brewing with "top quality brewers in the UK and abroad". He continues to brew Good King Henry at Grain Brewery in Norfolk.
