Denham (Mid Suffolk)
Introduction
A scattered village close to Eye.
Denham College is of uncertain date; it was reported in 1651 as one of the two principle dwellings in Denham, but seems to date back a good deal further. It was apparently a college of secular clergy, associated with the local parish church.
Glenn Miller certainly visited Denham during WW2; photographs of him standing outside the pub are known to exist.
A Marlbrough Arms has been found listed for this village, though it's actually in Dedham in Essex.
History
The 1844 White's Directory lists two beer houses run by James Baylis and James Cook.
