Frostenden

Introduction
Clay Common was the location of brickworks that were active until the 1950s.
The village, whose name means "Frogs valley", was recorded in Domesday as "Froxedena". Locals pronounce the village name "Frozzenden".
Domesday also reported that sea-going ships moored here, however all that remains now of the river they sailed up is a dry ditch.
