Flixton (nr. Lowestoft)

app

Introduction

A tiny broadland parish which as far as we know has never had a pub. The name is a corruption of Felix Town and comes from Felix, first bishop of the East Saxons. For some reason, it appears on Google Maps as Ellough; as we can't find any other reference to that name in the area, we assume this is an error.

Easily confused with the other Flixton, which is not far away, close to Bungay.

We have searched records dating back to before 1840 without finding reference to a single public house in this village; it seems likely there has never been one. Please let us know if you have any information to contradict this.
