Important Covid information

If all goes according to plan, the first tranche of pubs (those that are able to serve drinkers outdoors) may be able to reopen on April 12th. Though of course, in a situation like this, nothing is guaranteed. The rest of our pubs may be permitted to reopen from May 17th.

Pubs providing takeaways continue to be listed on this page.

Those known to be planning to reopen as soon as permitted are listed on this page.

4 High St, IP27 0AX

grid reference TL 712 831

A small village local on the outskirts of the settlement, which retained an off-sales window between the two bars.

Although planning permission to demolish the pub and build four houses was submitted in June 2011, the building itself has been converted into residential use.

Reported at 1 Howards Lane in the 1871 & 1881 censuses.

The pub is shown on this old OS map from about the end of the 19th century. interactive map
