Hulver Street

Introduction

The hamlet of Hulver Street forms the western part of Henstead cum Hulver parish. The name originally comes from the Suffolk dialect word for holly trees. These were cultivated here from 1267 for winter browsing. Only about a dozen old specimens remain.

We have so far been unable to find a map showing the boundary between Henstead and Hulver Street, so only the parish boundary appears on our map.
