Introduction
A small, well spaced village on the bank of the river Alde, recorded in Domesday variously as "Rimdham", "Rinham", "Rindham", "Rindeham" and "Rincham". A bronze bust of Emperor Claudius was recovered from the river in 1907 and is now in the British Museum.
