Shadingfield
Introduction
Strictly speaking, Shadingfield has no pub, but the Fox, which is actually in Willingham is normally considered to be in the village. It appears from old maps that past boundary changes may have caused this confusion. It was recorded in Domesday as "Scadenafella" and appears on John Speed's 1610 map as "Shanfeld". Mill Lane marks the location of a post mill demolished about 1967 and another mill of uncertain date.
