Culpho
Introduction
Recorded in Domesday as "Culfola" or "Culfole". Abbey Farm lies on the site of a 13th century abbey which was subsidiary to Leiston Abbey.
We have searched records dating back to before 1840 without finding reference to a single public house in this village; it seems likely there has never been one. Please let us know if you have any information to contradict this.
Culpho is one of only two "Thankful Villages" in Suffolk; where no men were lost to the Great War. (The other being St Michael South Elmham)
