Castle St was roughly where the New Wolsey Theatre now stands. The Ipswich licensing records and Rate books show that although listed as a beerhouse, it was only licensed for off-sales.
In Police records from 1903 the Joiners Arms was listed as a beerhouse for off-sales only - see Suffolk Archives ref DF6/1.
Demolished as part of the Civic drive development.
