I was drinking in the pub until its closure in early 1972. There used to be a Disco in there every Friday night, a DJ called Daisy. I met my then future wife in there around September 1971. Christmas that year, I can remember coming out at closing time and it was snowing. I still have a wall plate hanging in my kitchen that I took from the pub the night it closed around about April 1972.from Nigel Prentice
The pub may also be listed at 9 New Friars Road (1865).
