Important Covid information

If all goes according to plan, the first tranche of pubs (those that are able to serve drinkers outdoors) may be able to reopen on April 12th. Though of course, in a situation like this, nothing is guaranteed. The rest of our pubs may be permitted to reopen from May 17th.

Pubs providing takeaways continue to be listed on this page.

Those known to be planning to reopen as soon as permitted are listed on this page.

Stratford St Andrew Black Swan

Stratford St Andrew Black Swan

Closed before 1840

Main Rd

grid reference TM 358 601

This building is known to have been a coaching inn due to its entry in the Listed Buildings register, but was converted to cottages in the 19th century. As it doesn't appear in any available records, it must have been open a long time ago.

Although we only discovered this pub a good few years into this project, it's actually represented on the village sign by a black swan.
