In the light of the government announcement of March 20th, all pubs are now closed until further notice.
A number of pubs are providing takeaway food and/or drinks during the Covid-19 lockdown. Some offer deliveries, while others are selling from the premises. This page lists details of those we know about.
If you can give any of our pubs some support through these terrible times by buying some takeaway food or drink, please do so. Our pubs need as much support of possible if they're going to still be there for us when the crisis is over.

This beerhouse and shop can be seen here on an OS map of 1886. It's not marked as such on the 1892-1905 sheet, so may have closed by then. The only building now on the site appears fairly modern so the pub has probably been demolished.
A beerhouse is shown at this location on an 1886 map and the censuses show a beerhouse which appears to in this area. The landlord information assumes these are the same beerhouse.
The 1871 census locates the beer house in New England at schedule number 81, between Shadowbush Farm at 65 and Flax Farm at 85.
The censuses before 1871 and after 1901 do not show this as a beerhouse.
