Originally we though this might have been an earlier name for the White Hart - however we have since found a newspaper clip that show them both open in 1799
NOTE : There is a 19th century beer house called the Golden Lion - we do not yet know if the two pubs are connected.

To be lett and enter'd upon at Michaelmas next, an ancient and well accustom'd Inn, known by the Name of the White Lion at Stradbroke, lately put into very good Repair, with a Bowling-Green, and a commodious Brewing Office, with Utensils to Brew their own Beer, and also may serve several other Houses that now are served from the above said Office.Ipswich Journal, December 22nd 1739***
