Historical interest
Albert William Ruse, landlord of the "Granby", stated in court that he had refused to serve Robert Bond, labourer, in the past. On this occasion someone else had obtained the drink for him and he became very disorderly and refused to quit when requested. Bond in his defence told the court that he had "not been thoroughly drunk for several years and knew nothing of what took place". He was fined 5s with 10s 6d costs.Bury & Norwich Post, August 30th 1887** (when Albert William Ruse was the landlord)
