Tony Pringle tells us that the White Lion was purchased by Unex(No3) Ltd and the licence was surrendered on 2 June 2016. Bill Gredley (of Unex) had plans to demolish it and then replace it with a modern hotel as part of his development plans for that end of the town, but failed to get the necessary planning permission.
