Alfred Preston, landlord of the King’s head at Belton, was found guilty of supplying persons who were not bona fide travellers during prohibited hours on Good Friday. He stated that he had cleared his house at 2.30pm and thereafter only served travellers through his club room window. After hearing further evidence he was fined £5 including costs.
