Ipswich Crown & Sceptre

closed 5th June 1959
last owner/operator: cobbold
20 Crown St
grid reference TM 160 447
The Crown & Sceptre was closed down by the licensing authorities on "grounds of redundancy". Demolished in July 1961.
It's listed at 20 Crown Street in 1932 and 1939, and at 30 Crown Street by 1956, but shown in the same location on corner of High Street. It's also listed at 11 or 15 High Street.
It seems possible that this pub and one with the same name in Key Street may have been confused by some sources. Some landlords listed for one may actually have been at the other.
