Ipswich Post Chaise
Ipswich Post Chaise
North West, 52.05812,1.15919
closed 1926
2 Woodbridge Rd
grid reference TM 166 446
It's shown on this OS town plan from about 1880 (larger map).
The Post Chaise was used as a furniture showroom and also left derelict for several years, and before being demolished in the 1930s. Site is now part of a short lived multiscreen cinema complex (and may soon be converted to a church).
I was born in 1930 but remember the Post Chaise as a large, derelict former coaching inn that had already stood empty for a long while.from Paul Jarman
